Prof. Hanxiong Li

Han-Xiong Li received his B.E. degree in aerospace engineering at National University of Defense Technology in China in 1982, an M.E. degree in electrical engineering at Delft University of Technology in The Netherlands in 1991, and a Ph. D. degree in electrical engineering at the University of Auckland, New Zealand in 1997. He works as a professor at Department of SEEM of City University of Hong Kong. He has broad experience in both academia and industry. He authored 2 books and about 20 patents and published more than 200 papers indexed by SCI on journals with h-index 49 (web of science). He has been rated as a highly cited Chinese scholar by Elsevier since 2014. His research interests are in intelligent manufacturing, including process modeling/control, distributed parameter systems, and system intelligence. Dr. Li serves as an associate editor of IEEE Transactions on SMC: System, and was an associate editor of IEEE Transactions on Cybernetics (2002-2016) and IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics (2009-2015). He was awarded the Distinguished Young Scholar (overseas) by the China National Science Foundation in 2004, a Chang Jiang professorship by the Ministry of Education in China in 2006, and a national professorship in China Thousand Talents Program in 2010. He serves as a distinguished expert for Hunan Government and China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese. He is a Fellow of the IEEE.
Prof. Yong Wang
Central South University, China
Yong Wang works as a professor and doctoral supervisor at Central South University, the director of the Institute of Intelligent Systems and Intelligent Control, and the head of the Department of Artificial Intelligence. Meantime, he was selected as a Young Changjiang Scholar by the Ministry of Education, a Highly Cited Scholar in Global Computer Science, an Intra-European Marie Curie fellowship, a Hong Kong Scholar, and a Rotating Chairman of the System Simulation Society of Hunan Province. What's more, he is mainly engaged in research on artificial intelligence and its applications. He presided over 4 projects supported by National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), more than 20 provincial and corporate projects, and published 50 papers on international journals as the first author or corresponding author (37 papers in IEEE Transactions). The published papers were cited more than 3000 times by SCI and more than 6000 times by Google Scholar. Additionally, he received the Second Prize of Natural Science of Hunan Province and IEEE Institute of Computational Intelligence Outstanding Doctoral Thesis Award. Now he is an associate editor of IEEE Transactions on Evolutionary Computation (Impact Factor 11.169) and Swarm and Evolutionary Computation (Impact Factor 6.912). He has been concentrating on Research of Intelligent Optimization, Automobile Lightweight Design, Medical Big Data, Military Small Sample, Intelligent Robot, Intelligent Dispatching, Intelligent System Research and Development recently.
Assoc. Prof. Giuseppe Carbone

Giuseppe Carbone got his PhD degree in Robotics at the University of Cassino in 2004. He received his BSc degree, MSc degree (2000) in Mechanical Engineering and Robotics at University of Cassino where he has been Assistant Professor and worked at Key Member of the Laboratory of Robotics and Mechatronics for about 15 years. He was visiting professor at Universidad Carlos III of Madrid, Beihang University, Waseda University and other well-reputed International Research Institutions. He is Visiting professor at Sheffield Hallam University where he served as Senior Lecturer and member of the Executive board of Sheffield Robotics, Associate Professor at University of Calabria and Chair of IFToMM TC on Robotics and Mechatronics, Member of the board of directors of ISBE, Treasurer of the IFToMM Italy Member Organization, Editor-in-Chief of Robotica Journal (Cambridge Univ. Press), Section EIC of Journal of Bionic Engineering, MDPI Robotics, MDPI Machines, Technical Editor of IEEE/ASME Transactions on Mechatronics. Moreover, he published over 350 research papers. He was PI or co-PI of more than 20 projects including 7th European Framework and H2020 funds. He received more than 20 Best Paper awards and more than 10 International Best Patent awards.
Assoc. Prof. Mustafa MISIR

Mustafa MISIR completed his Ph. D. in Computer Science at KU Leuven in 2012. After graduation, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher at INRIA Saclay - Universite Paris Sud XI, Singapore Management University and University of Freiburg respectively. He was also a visiting researcher at University of Zurich and BarcelonaTech. Then he moved to Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics as a faculty member at the College of Computer Science and Technology. Before joining Duke Kunshan University, he was a faculty member in Computer Engineering at Istinye University. His research interests include automated algorithm design (machine learning + algorithm design), data science and operations research. He is the recipient of several prestigious academic awards and published over 40 papers in various international conferences/journals.
